Bostock Pools clients requested a resort-style pool and spa area, contemporary and sophisticated style to complement their newly built home, and highly functional, stress-free maintenance. Bostock recommended a heated swim spa for therapeutic benefits, and a 10m pool for summer family fun. The Bostock team was faced with a challenging sloping block, with a fall of 2.5m. Although the customer is on a semi-rural property, Bostock only had a limited area of the building envelope on which the pool could be built. Engineering retaining walls created an elevated platform that provides fluid interaction between the home and entertainment area. The pool-and-spa combination has been designed to be highly functional, suiting outdoor entertaining, lounging and exercise year round. Colourful coordinated glass mosaic tiles on the 600mm spillway create seamless integration between the two bodies of water, with LED lights in the water bubblers between the stepping stones further enhancing the design and becoming a stunning feature at night. The hard landscaping utilises natural products such as travertine stone tiles and pebbles to perfectly complement the surrounding environment, allowing the pool area to blend in with the home and surrounding bushland. Frameless glass fencing allows uninterrupted views of the natural landscape and mountains. The feature wall is a contemporary design and has strong visual appeal, while serving as a barrier for filtration. The wall incorporates a custom-designed mirrored water feature which provides relaxation, tranquility and serenity to the pool area.
