CPB Contractors were engaged by Health Infrastructure (HI) under a D&C contract and played a pivotal role in the successful design and construction of the NSW Government’s Campbelltown Stage 2 Hospital Redevelopment. This was a crucial phase of the $632 million Government commitment to enhance healthcare in the community and involved the construction of a state-of-the-art nine-storey Clinical Services Building split over two towers (a total of 70,210m2) connected by an integrated central spine. One tower caters for acute services and inpatient accommodation while the other focuses on mental health services.  The building includes a new Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Perioperative (Operating Theatres, Cath Labs, Interventional Radiology), Central Sterilising Services Department, Maternity, Birthing, Special Care Nursery, Surgical/Medical Inpatient Units, Maternity and Paediatric Inpatient Units, paediatric day only/ambulatory, Mental Health (Integrated) & Mental Health Short Stay Unit, Cancer - radiation therapy with the addition of a new radiotherapy bunker, Ambulatory Day Care, helipad, front-of-house, pedestrian and clinical links, on-grade carpark and landscaping, and upgrades to Therry Road and Appin Road intersections. The project also involved refurbishment of existing facilities and departments in buildings for Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Catheter Lab, Surgical Day Only, Overnight Stay and Cancer – chemotherapy services. The project was delivered under the NSW Government’s GC21 contract framework, CPB Contractors effectively managed the project, adhering to rigorous standards and timelines outlined by the client, Health Infrastructure. The utilisation of modified Special Conditions facilitated seamless collaboration between all stakeholders, enabling efficient design development. The building is finished to a high standard, and CPB Contractors’ exemplary performance on the project has delivered a world-class healthcare facility for the community.
