The new Newcastle Regional Museum building was originally three separate workshop buildings, part of the Civic railway workshops for the Great North Railways. The oldest of the three buildings dates back to 1880.
This work comprised the refurbishment and fit out of the three stand alone buildings and converting them into one grand museum connected by a new link structure.
The new museum is a wonderful facility and showcases many exhibits of the industries which once flourished in the Newcastle area.
