The Mater Hospital redevelopment was undertaken as a PPP Agreement between Abigroup and NSW Health.  
The design team developed an alternative for the central energy plant which substantially reduced the hospital’s operational costs.  To maintain the construction program, a temporary emergency department was established in the car park to allow for the construction of the new emergency department.
This three stage $161 million project took 3.5 years to complete, whilst keeping the hospital fully operational at all times.
This most challenging project has been certified “Fit for Purpose” under the terms of the contract.
