This sprawling Hunters Hill mansion is the perfect marriage of heritage architecture and modern design.  The stone and brick external walls were supported with a temporary steel structure whilst the builder excavated the rock below and the attic was designed to brace the building.  The steel staircase demands special mention as it is a fine example of the builder’s ability to overcome construction problems.
