The customers’ brief was to remove an existing, outdated kidney-shaped swimming pool which was only 6m x 3m and had no cleaning functions. Award Pools completed a 3D design that included a new formal pool, water feature, spa, elevated deck and extended paved areas. The site was very overgrown and had many palm trees and Award Pools decided to retain many of the plants. The pool has an elevated deck approximately 15m2, which was built over the existing pool. The spa comfortably seats six people, and has a 2m spillover edge into the pool. The water feature is approximately 1.8m and houses two 900mm sheer descents, which is tiled with a feature tile and lit with selected lighting to highlight it in the evening. The interior of the pool is a colour rendered finish and all steps and ledges are tiled using a trend tile. The interior of the spa is also tiled. The 1.2m access to construct these works was extremely difficult. During construction, heavy rain also proved a challenge. The pool blends into the landscape and the glass fence around it allows it to be a great visual feature from the house. A shining example of the quality work that Award Pools is known for.
