Typically warehouses are constructed on a single level spanning a large area. Due to space constraints a model popular overseas was used at the Axis Alexandria site, i.e. the nine warehouses have been built over two levels, half on the bottom level and the remainder on the upper level. The project is quite large with a gross floor area of 16,000 Sqm and the tenancies range from 1,000 Sqm to 7,000 Sqm.   Each warehouse includes a two-storey office and there is generously shared heavy-duty hardstands. The project has been built to a high standard with FM2 floors and there has been the extensive use of recycled steel. Various obstacles have been overcome including those imposed by Mascot airport and Transgrid and the sewer and stormwater connections were further major challenges for the builders. The completed project is a credit to the team at BESIX Watpac.
