Buildcorp Contracting NSW was awarded the contract to rebuild the historic St Barnabas Anglican Church after the original church was burnt down resulting in a total demolition and the construction of the new church.
The unique steel structure meant that extensive temporary propping and bracing was required during the course of erection. This in turn resulted in high temporary point loads to allow the erection necessitating the engineered back-propping of the lower levels to facilitate this work until the whole structure was able to support its own suspended weight. Some of the prefabricated members were enormous and oddly shaped, with the curved roof members requiring multiple lifts.
