The extension to the Norwest Private hospital is a new four storey wing adjoining the existing operational hospital. There was also additional refurbishment works to the existing hospital. It had 30 stages across 10 hand-overs requiring the team to become part of the working hospital. 
The new wing included alterations to the basement and ground floor carparks, 4 surgical theatres, Recovery areas, sterile stock store and new staff room, Central Sterile Services Department, Medical Records Department, 3 new medical suites, 54 orthopaedic ward beds with en-suites with associated lounge and staff areas.
The refurbishment works included the expansion of the ICU, 16 perioperative bed bays, new pre-admission centre, 3 additional Cath Lab beds and upgrades to back-of-house areas including a kitchen expansion.
The works were closely integrated with the existing hospital which required excellent communication between Buildcorp and Norwest and detailed planning to handle the many stages.
