An electronic approach to manage health and safety high-risk construction work (HRCW), making it as simple and easy as possible for their site teams to understand, implement and monitor. Simply put, the overall aim was for their staff to plan safe, work safe and get home safe. The new system was designed with a focus on the end user, reducing paperwork and meaning more time spent on planning and managing safe work practices for HRCW. This culminated in the development of an online safety dashboard which provides audit findings as they are observed, i.e. as soon as they are entered. In particular, the management team finds the internal dashboard useful to stay on top of audit findings/results and compare site-to-site performance to better understand trends and ultimately work out where support is needed. The transparency has also motivated their site teams to remain focused on safety risk management, observing instant performance of their own site and their peers on other live projects.
