This project involved the expansion of the existing Sovereign Lakes gaming facility on level 17, the rooftop of the Astra Hotel. The expansion works were undertaken on both the north and south sides of the existing high-roller gaming salons. These salons remained in operation during the work. Joinery, a custom 6m-long fish tank and seamless integration with the existing building were part of the work.
The builder carried out complex expansion and refurbishment to the high-roller game facility. Works were undertaken with minimum storage and loading space. These works were required to have minimum impact on the casino and hotel operations. Scaffolds, hoists and the tower crane were located to ensure these requirements were met. Site-specific material and access management plans to service level 17 were thus developed.
Façade details were redesigned to a custom pre-fabricated system to reduce the scaffolding and safety risk. Mechanical requirements for structure were similarly amended. Procurement recommendations, together with the above amendments, also enabled an accelerated handover.
Works were completed to the highest quality and on time.
