This project occupies the sub-basement, ground floor chamber and level 1 of the old City Mutual Building on the corner of Bligh Street and Hunter Street in Sydney C.B.D. The Heritage listing of the building and the interior posed a challenge from the commencement of the project, particularly the Art deco theme of the Grand Chamber. Difficult site access and a tight time schedule added further challenges.
All components of the state of the art kitchens were manufactured in stainless steel. All finishes in the main dining areas and the private dining rooms were of the highest quality incorporating stone, tiles, leather and fabric. The joinery in all areas was beautifully crafted.
This is a superb job which has recaptured the elegance of a bygone period.
