This project comprised the construction of an underground car park facility that is linked to a new Woolworths Store. A piazza area providing public space has been created at ground level with specialty retail space also provided.
The construction works comprised a 17m deep excavation just four metres from the Kingsgrove railway line involving the removal of approximately 100,000m3 of Class 1 rock. Close liaison with the Rail Authority was required to satisfy the rail corridor requirements resulting in redesign of the shoring systems at the upper level to meet these requirements.
General access was also limited by virtue of the narrow residential streets that added to the complexity of construction. 
The interior works involved the fitout of the Woolworths store together with shop front finishes to the Piazza level and substantial underground parking which serves the retail and residential component of the development.
Finish selections were generally of a high standard demonstrating an understanding by the contractor  of the importance of long-term maintenance considerations.
