This build was extremely challenging comprising 271-bed student accommodation with a retail development in the Central Park masterplan located in Chippendale. Known as 3B, 3C and 10 - seven storeys, six storeys and five storeys respectively - each of them encompass student accommodation with ground floor retail and surrounding public domain works. The construction also incorporated a triplex chamber substation located in the basement of Block 3B (which provides power to the entire Kensington Street precinct).
The external façade features include the retention of an existing façade for the new building of Block 10 due to its heritage significance. The three buildings include an administration area, bicycle and bin stores, commercial laundry, gym and a variety of indoor and outdoor communal areas. The reception space is adorned with stone floors, with the herringbone external brickwork continuing to the lift core internally. The site had substantial works such as piling, underpinning, archaeological investigations, record taking and demolition of existing steel trusses while maintaining the existing features of the original structures.
