Being the first of its kind in NSW and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, Fortress Sydney is a state-of-the-art, e-sports gaming and hospitality venue that appeals to an audience within the realm of game culture, entertainment, broadcasting and social events. The area covers 2000m2 over two floors and hosts up to 1000 guests.   Calida Projects was faced with an accelerated programme of eight-month within a highly sensitive commercial and residential development of Central Park Mall, Chippendale with all noisy works to be completed by 10am.  The fitout involved two fantasy themed taverns and bar, commercial kitchen, sci-fi themed bar, gaming arena, Telstra Lan lounge and private Lan rooms hosting high-end Alienware technology, a balcony/viewing area overlooking the gaming arena with retractable stadium seating and an elevated stage. Structural steel trusses were installed for AV and signage as well as crowd loaded glazed balustrades. Also included are joinery banquettes, a gaming arcade, streaming rooms, offices, staff rooms, and amenities.   The issues presented were overcome with detailed planning and communications by the enthusiastic Calida Projects team. This fitout has given the gaming community an area that reflects the ambience with quality workmanship encompassing sophisticated technology.
