The Buena Vista Hotel is rich in history and over 100 years old. The building was in extremely poor structural condition. The refurbishing requirements meant the structure was the source of many latent conditions, which presented challenges from day one of the project.  A complex mechanical and electrical upgrade including a major power upgrade to the building was also managed whilst part of the Hotel remained open during these works.  The works comprised the complete strip out, high end detailing of all new works throughout the public bar, all new bistro dining area, new high-end restaurant Bistro Moncur together with a refurbished Level 1 bar.   Brand new timber glazing to the perimeter of the Hotel, Italian and Spanish imported tiling and dark rich timber finishes and leather panelling were incorporated into the works. Custom made wine fridges were engineered specifically for this project together with custom made steel framed doors, heated glazing and modified wine racks were all included.  The attention to detail in carrying out theses high-end works has ensured the success of the project in remaining an iconic venue in Mosman.  Overall the works were well executed to a high standard under difficult conditions, a high level of skill has been demonstrated to achieve the final result.
