he project required the conversion of a future diesel generator plant room in Basement 2 of the Barangaroo complex into a multi-storey dance theatre for the Bangarra Dance Theatre.
The visual highlight is the “pleated” ceiling. The level of detail and setout required to achieve the desired result is commendable.
To achieve the desired result, a great deal of planning and co-ordination was essential. The way the team solved the problems of access, acoustic, structural, existing services relocation and modification and restricted headroom on the mezzanine level is a testament to their initiative and energy.
Overall, the works were well executed to a high standard under difficult conditions. A high level of skill and co-ordination has been demonstrated to achieve the final result.
