Chase Projects Pty Ltd has created a unique project at Goonoo Goonoo Station. This project has a combination of heritage restoration work and also highly modern, contemporary architecture. In both of these realms, Chase Projects has had to remediate or use masonry to perform the required demanding detailing to bring life back to an Australian heritage asset. In comparison to the heritage Woolstore where everything is old, carefully exposed and emphasised, the Glasshouse restaurant is more of a minimalist-style make up with all services and gadgetry hidden, straight lines with hard materials, like concrete, steel and glass, which naturally require fine tolerances. The complexity of the Glasshouse restaurant required an in-depth understanding of innovative and progressive building. All of these elements create a great juxtaposition for the project allowing each building to stand apart but come together. The property is now open to the public to visit and appreciate both a fascinating piece of history and some great contemporary architecture in the heartland of New South Wales.
