The Junior School at Danebank Anglican School For Girls is a four-level building built on a restrictive site with an active school community. Works included a basement service area, ground floor preparatory area and breakout space, entry and staff areas including reception and administration. First and second floors include GLAs and a music room. There is a roof playground area. Extensive ground floor external landscaping and play areas complement the building works. Initial works were carefully considered to comply with authorities and the college activities on a restricted site. Excavation revealed contaminated soil. Significant amounts of soil were subsequently removed once testing was completed and approvals were given. The excavated site revealed unknown old concrete piers. These were carefully removed. Height restrictions and tight design tolerances required close co-ordination and consultation. Some services required relocation to ensure the height requirements were met. The complex façade was varied and well-constructed. Structural changes to the slab design incurred potential delays that were limited by an alternate solution. Similarly a hydrant booster pump and enclosure were added.  A COLA was also added late in the program.
The rooftop playground waterproofing and finish was redesigned, this resulted in a more aesthetic treatment and a cost saving for the college. A Spanish screen-printed glass mosaic tile feature panel was installed in the Prep Room. This difficult project was executed with quality management and attention to detail.
