This new facility is a purpose-built search & rescue co-ordination centre, which will provide a major boost to the regions boating community, expanded Marine Rescue NSWs search & rescue capabilities.  It is a 2 storey building facing Newcastle Harbour, finished with metal cladding and glass. The project also incorporates extensive fitout works. Several authority & services issues were resolved, involving all major services and government agencies.  The design incorporated several solutions to minimise the corrosion impact of the marine environment on the building and make sure that it lasts a substantial time without major maintenance. This is a very well resolved and built project that COWYN can be proud of.
