Bert’s is a light-filled bar and brasserie reminiscent of the grand hotel dining rooms of the 1930s. It enjoys the relaxed air of Sydney’s northern beaches and overlooks Pittwater and the waterfront grounds of The Newport.   From the ornate doorways to the decorative touches of hand painting, every part of this venue has been expertly designed and crafted. The Champagne Bar is decorated in green oynx, aged brass and finished with tinted Marrakesh. The combination of Salmon Pink and Verde tumbled European marble tiles is contrasted with the muted pastel colour scheme of the painted timber columns. The coffered ceilings are decorated with Marrakesh, stretched rattan and finished with painted timber profiles. The experience continues with cocktails served at the round bar, which is decorated with French oak, aged brass and Smeraldo marble. The venue is illuminated by dainty French lamp shades scattered across the restaurant. The kitchen is dressed in Carrara marble, French oak, aged brass and Marrakesh.  The builder has managed the construction of this bespoke fit-out together with a demanding client and has produced a very detailed and well-constructed result worthy of an award.
