FDC had to change the use of a 5,217m2 of existing warehouse from storage space to food manufacturing facility including the construction of a Waste Water Treatment Plant. Access to the gantry level was too high for everyday work that need to be undertaken. A new safe system of work and access consisted of a custom-made cage which could be fitted and locked onto the gantry and fitted via an EWP. This would provide both improved access and a safe work platform where the workers could undertake the task safely. After two months of product development and manufacturing safety procedures were designed and developed. This bespoke working cage was implemented, and the project was completed without incident, making FDC the Winner for this price category.
