This project is the conversion of a commercial building into an educational facility for Navitas.
Navitas is a private international education provider. The building population has been increased by 2,500-4,000 people each day. Works were completed while the building remained occupied.
The change of use triggered significant building services upgrades. Sprinklers, water towers, hydrants, smoke exhaust and power were affected. Fit out was extensive and included lecture halls, breakout space, teaching space, technology and back of house areas. Four new escalators were included to minimize the impact on the existing lifts. This required a new one meter diameter column to the atrium. An innovative Fire Curtain to the atrium at levels 2 and 3 around the new helical staircase was instigated by the Contractor. The Smoke Management System, similarly, was amended with significantly input from the Builder.
Works were delayed by unforeseen authority approval processes and due to lease complications, the completion date could not be extended. The program was significantly reduced and stages were altered to achieve minimal impact for the client.
Noise was a major issue with the adjacent hotel and ongoing tenants within the building. A Noise Management plan and a Communications Plan were implemented. 
This complex project reflects the positive approach and result from collaboration, cohesion and quality building.
