The IKEA Marsden Park project is located within the newly developed Sydney Business Park situated in the north–west Sydney growth precinct. The overall site is 76,000m2 and the building footprint is approximately 28,000m2, comprising a single-level retail store, showroom and market hall areas, children’s play area, Swedish food market, customer and co-worker restaurants and warehouse areas.
The builders were engaged to manage the base building design process in line with IKEA’s strict global requirements; while also complying with local building regulations through the construction and handover of the new facility.
The project team delivered a very high-quality project, under budget. Despite encountering inclement weather, practical completion was achieved two months ahead of the contract program.
