This design & construct project was constructed on the old Channel Two studio site at Gore Hill and consists of a major data centre, a rare development in the Sydney region.
The construction was undertaken on a restricted site comprising access via only one temporary road and under the shadow of Gore Hill communication towers. This resulted in the site only being able to utilise mobile cranes, making the planning and materials handling essential.
The work consisted of conventional piers, four levels of concrete floors of approximately 3,55m2 with four cores constructed at each corner of the building. The façade had a number of elements, being curtain walling, precast concrete, louvres and aluminium composite panels. 
The curtain wall was a typical installation, however the precast was installed using a corbel system on the first floor suspended deck to support the panels. The roof top plant room was specially designed as a portal frame to bear and distribute the substantial load of the chilled water pipe work.
Service installation was a major component of the project with coordination and installation requiring enormous skill. This included a base building private 33kv sub station, 300,000m of 6A data cable, 12,000 terminations, 21,000m of fibre cabling, 24,000m of sub main cabling, 60,000m of sub circuit cabling, and some 1070 power outlet racks.
There were a number of unforeseen challenges encountered in the course of the construction, particularly in respect of site constraints and materials handling, however on each occasion a solution was found. From the outset the contractors had an ambitious delivery timeframe, given the complex technical nature of the project as well as the exceptional inclement weather throughout the Sydney basin at that time. Nevertheless a high quality product was delivered to a most satisfied client.
