A difficult project because of its location in the Haymarket, with pedestrians, vehicular traffic and the light rail tram in close proximity.  The façade of the heritage listed structure was retained, the internal floors demolished and a basement excavated.  The new structural works entailed piling, concrete floors to all levels, structural steel trusses, all services and the installation of a lift.  The finished project is a hotel designed to fit in with its Chinatown surroundings. 
The quality of the work is good and amazingly the work was completed in twelve months.
