This granny flat was quite unique, being a home above an open carpark facing a rear laneway. The site was challenging and involved excavation to suit the new design. The building contained concrete block walls to the parking area below, large steel beams to support the lightweight construction of the first floor, and a cantilevered deck. Privacy screens provide a nice touch to the external facade and with raked ceilings, this is a standout inner-city apartment.
