Pozieres House comprises a 114 bed aged care facility built to a high standard & situated on a very tight site surrounded closely by operational aged care facilities.
True collaboration during construction between the client, builder & architect was achieved which was obvious to the judges during the site inspection.
The builder encountered serious ground water problems necessitating speer points, & asbestos contamination was found during services excavation works.
The team utilized AFS pre-finished wall systems on the ground floor, & lightweight structural steel framing on the 2nd floor, in lieu of conventional steel structure & roof framing, this providing a more accurate, safer & faster construction process.
A successful project for a very involved, innovative & productive builder.
