This J.N.C upgrade project celebrates the adaptive reuse & redevelopment of the 1888 heritage derelict building into a revitalised community centre in the heart of Woolloomooloo.
The intricate architectural &interior design involved major refurbishment, services upgrade, new lift installation & extensive street works. A number of construction difficulties were encountered. Collaboration between stakeholders was required to determine the easiest resolution in dealing with the retention & conservation of significant heritage elements, the demolition & restoration of the floor structure plus the onsite fabrication of structural steel element & timber frame roof trusses
The interior finishes of polished concrete & timber flooring, exposed concrete walls & exposed featured timber roof framing & batten linings compliment the overall finish of the project.
