• Decorative void columns and balustrades – Victorian ash
• Mall bridges and the cutting stair – jarrah hardwood flooring
• Level 1 food court – ceiling – pine plywood from Chile
Joinery – American oak and blackbutt hardwood
• Level 1 Keira Street pedestrian bridge – jarrah hardwood flooringThe use of various Australian and overseas species of timber has created a very warm ambience with varied hues throughout the centre.
The workmanship by the tradesmen engaged by Hansen Yuncken to install the interiors is excellent and a tribute to the professionalism and craftsmanship of the site management team and their installers. This new retail centre in Wollongong is a worthy winner of the Best Use of Timber 2015 award.
