Hansen Yuncken’s new four storey Q building has achieved a 6-star green rating and the first regional building in NSW to achieve a 6-star design as built rating.
The University of Newcastle building features Glulam beams and columns and CLT slabs with a concrete core and high thermal performance double glazed sage glass facade system. This glass is the first of its kind used in Australia. 
The project represents the collaboration of a wider team, including the university, design teams, suppliers, and subcontractor partners, to implement industry leading sustainability initiatives and realise the University of Newcastle's overreaching sustainability strategy.
The success of the project is a testament to the drive and determination of the collective project team.
