This project was the judges highlight. A magnificent restoration of an important historical building. It also provided a masterclass in off-form concrete through the construction of a modernist pool house. HomeConstruct employed a boat builder to construct numerous fibreglass “hulls” as formwork for walls and ceilings. The excavation, formwork, steel reinforcement and concrete placement were of the highest order the judge has seen.
