These stables were built in the 1890s at the back of the former Central Hotel in Bega. They were dismantled brick by brick, timber by timber and reassembled some 8 kilometres in Jellat Jellat over a twelve-month period. The re-assembling of the stables was a labour of love for Hoyland Constructions which undertook to remove, clean and relay all the bricks for reuse; disassemble all roofing timbers, window and doors and then reuse them in the new building. Hoyland had to use older hand saws to cut the hardwood timbers used as the new handsaws were too quick to lose their set and sharpness. There was a requirement to slightly alter the structure to accommodate its new use but the overall visual image and structural details have been faithfully adhered.  Bespoke ironmongery items were made by a blacksmith and items from the old stables were reused. The external stair to the original hay loft has been made from old salvaged timbers found on the property which fit appropriately in the context of a stables.  The workmanship is of a high standard and a credit to Hoyland Constructions that they understood the significance of the stables and its history.
