Logistics shaped the construction of the Milson Island Multipurpose Hall, with the site located on a small island in the Hawkesbury River which was populated by school students on camp during the construction period.
The planning and organisation of all deliveries of all labour and materials down to the smallest door handles and screws had to be delivered to the water’s edge, then transported by barge to Milson Island, unloaded from the barge and loaded onto trucks for delivery to the site which was located on  the top of a hill on the island. Due to their size, structural steel work and roof sheeting were the two building elements most affected by these constraints. The materials having to be measured and manufactured prior to delivery to ensure seamless construction.
The builder has delivered a uniquely designed and unconventionally shaped large recreational building of high quality under extremely difficulties located on a historical site on an island in a bushland setting.
