The Equinix SY4 Stage 1 project included the construction of a two storey data centre supported by a level plant area and a two storey administration annex, totalling 21,000 square metres of floor area.    
John Holland developed an aggressive programme to meet the planned August 2016 opening/operational date. Decontamination works started within a week of contract award to remove 6000 cubic metres of spoil.
Site access was restricted to access from the north and egress to the south only along Bourke Road, Alexandria with stringent council restrictions.
A major construction difficulty was the removal of all contaminated spoil, so as to not affect the construction programme and produce a safe working environment for the construction works. John Holland developed a detailed Cut to Fill plan based on the trenching required for the in-ground services and excess from piling.
The structure was expedited by the use of the Perri Perri system with the Services installation and commissioning being on the critical path throughout the project.
An extremely high quality of services installation and finishes has been achieved throughout with the project being completed on time (13 months), on budget and with an exemplary safety and environmental record.
