Critical to the commencement of the works was the development of a site and interim fire safety plan which allowed the museum to function whilst providing the staff to continue operations throughout the Museum in all non-construction zones.
The sequencing of the work was critical to ensure safety within the occupied building together with maintain structural stability.
Materials handling systems had to be implemented and tightly controlled in order to avoid delays to the progress of the works. The work was completed within the Clients time constraints set at the beginning of the project.
The completed standard of finish was very high, the management of the works within the existing building environment and successfully dealing with restricted access issues has resulted in a successful project deserving of this award.
