The new facility incorporates new and existing buildings into a state of the art multi level Library, multi function centre and School of Arts Community centre with floor space of over 1500m2. The construction of this uniquely designed building is outstanding with minute attention to detail and finish.
The library building has a structural steel twisted roof frame supported on steel tree columns which creates unusual details both internally and externally which produced huge challenges for all trades and the result is outstanding workmanship.
Polished concrete floors and a steel spiral stairs cantilevering off the mezzanine slab demonstrate great attention to detail and workmanship, together with the joining of new and old buildings required restoration skills integrated with landscaping and paving carried out in stages on a site in a very busy location.
