Kane Constructions delivered this project under difficult cost restraints but worked with the client to produce a value-for-money asset for the local Springwood community.
Working around an existing library and retaining the existing community hall timber floor, Kane Constructions was able to achieve a good outcome with careful planning and attention to detail. They also had to confront shared access to an adjacent shopping centre as well as library staff, user groups and patrons and parking for library users.
Pre-cast concrete with an applied finish was substituted for rammed earth wall. A bespoke mechanical system was utilised and a curved plywood soffit makes for a striking entrance.
Work was finished to a high standard and a great deal of co-operation and design input has achieved a quality building for the local community.
