This social and recreational facilities project was constructed on a 70,000m2 green fields site opposite a local shopping centre and consisted of two large multi storey buildings separating the community facilities and library from the sports and recreation centre.
The buildings are of concrete and structural steel with elements of Precast concrete panels and GRC. Approximately 25%of the project comprised external works, landscaping, picnic areas, children’s playground, skatepark, basketball courts, cycling and walking paths and on grade car parking.
On commencement the whole of the very large site was fully fenced and wrapped in shade cloth to prevent unauthorised access and minimise visual impact. 
The open nature of this greenfield site allowed easy access for the bulk excavation operations and subgrade preparation, and concurrently the establishment of the Site Compound including the Site office, first Aids sheds, lunch sheds, change rooms and toilet and amenities blocks.
Carefully planned programme allowed early construction activities to commence opening up many work fronts concurrently including inground services and the setting up of mobile cranes close to the lifting positions for structural steel, precast concrete panels and the loading roofing materials and plant into place.   
The site team has to be congratulated for delivering a high quality  design and construct project  on a greenfield site with such a diverse range of facilities and services concurrently with large scale landscape environmental rejuvenation in just 14 months.
