This challenging design and construct project involved the refurbishment, renovation and additions to an existing busy large homemaker and lifestyle centre which had to remain operational during all phases of the construction works over a period of 20 months.
To achieve the client operational requirements and program, shift works were introduced to combat disruptive works which in turn shaped the site team roles catering for the 24 hour construction operations.
These changed working conditions introduced additional problems associated with timing of construction documentation/communications, building security, staff security, safety, materials handling, cleaning, rubbish removal, and presenting the retail areas clean and ready for trading every morning following the night shift works.
This project is a credit to the whole team in achieving an outstanding result.
