The project consisted of the design and construction of 42 independent living units and the associated external works. During the design stage the project team worked closely with the design team and ARV, to ensure the aesthetics of the buildings complemented the surrounding built environment. The works were completed within a live and operating retirement village where stakeholder management is paramount to the seamless delivery. During the labour peak of the project the builder had approximately 90 people on site each day. The development has created a number of external community spaces, including gardens, barbecue spaces and sitting areas. The judges were impressed by the degree of cooperation between the clients and the builders, this fact being proven by further stages now being awarded to the builder.
