This project comprised 37 stages and consisted of the construction of over 20,000 square metres of floor area and provided an additional 1183 car spaces and 60 motor cycle spaces. The existing mall has been completely refurbished and tenancies re-located including the creation of a premium mall space with the existing services upgraded and extended to meet fire compliance regulations.
Externally new roads and dock areas were added and internally additional vertical transportation has been added providing a greater pedestrian flow throughout the mall.
The total project was carried out with the DHO Centre remaining open and trading throughout the construction period. To achieve this requirement the site team managed the design management through to co-ordination, staging and construction.
Mainbrace completed every one of the 37 stages on the original dates despite all delays and obstacles that arose during the contract period – a truly exception result by the site team.
