Gregory Hills Town Centre is a new shopping centre located in the new suburb of Gregory Hills in south-west Sydney. The new 7500m² centre features a Woolworths supermarket, BWS, medical centre, 19 specialty tenancies, one kiosk, and 450 car park spaces. Separate loading docks service Woolworths and the speciality tenancies. Both the car park and loading docks feature charging points for electric vehicles.
Gregory Hills Shopping Centre provides a point of difference in what is a very competitive retail area. The centre has created a sense of opulence by upscaling mall finishes with high-level raking battened ceilings that are illuminated with natural light through the clerestory windows. Above-target trading since opening appears to support the decisions made during design and construction.
The high ceilings created many challenges with the reticulation of services. The immovable opening date, the mixture of finishes throughout the various zones and last-minute tenant changes all presented Mainbrace with many challenges. The judges were impressed with how the project was delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
