The new TAS Building provides the college with metalwork, woodwork and engineering teaching areas on the ground floor. Graphic design, hospitality, food technology and general learning areas are on the upper level. The design is around a two-storey central atrium.
Initial works required the redirection of major stormwater mains and connection to the sewer main. Site access was limited.
Facades were a combination of Alucobond, Colorbond, Ultraclad and CFC. These various finishes were well managed and carefully built and detailed. Similarly, a variety of internal finishes were well integrated into the building fabric.
Services and technical requirements for specialist trade teaching areas, including the commercial kitchen, have been completed to high standard.
Works were completed in 15 months.
