St Patrick’s Green comprises three independent living buildings arranged around a shared landscaped courtyard. The largest 11-storey tower includes a 100-bed aged care facility across the first four floors.
Site access was difficult and limited as the site is bounded by the Princes Highway, a primary school and a Catholic church. St George Hospital is adjacent and the immediate area is predominantly residential apartment blocks. With a number of builder-initiated community initiatives, the project was well received by the neighbours and stakeholders.
Construction included the removal of hazardous materials, management of materials in limited space, multiple façade finishes and safety management.
Prototypes were prepared for finishes, details and fit-out. Significant efficiencies were achieved for Multiplex, sub-contractors and the client.
The level of consultation between the builder, client, consultants and trades is evident in this well-built and carefully detailed building.
