Standing at 158m, 1 Denison Street is North Sydney’s newest landmark. Comprising 37 levels of commercial and retail space, the tower boasts some of North Sydney’s largest floor plates offering 60‚000m2 of office, 2‚300m2 of retail and 1‚600m2 of dining space.
The diversity of high-end finishes also added complexity across the processes from procurement to installation. Multiplex has provided raised access flooring, grid ceilings, essential services, bathroom fit outs including partitions, tiling, joinery, and bathroom accessories, lift lobby finishes and automated blinds to the north façade.
The building has achieved both 5-Star Green Star and 5-Star NABERS energy ratings and is registered to pursue Well V2 Platinum.
The building’s tower curtain wall was manufactured and installed by a tier one subcontractor to ensure procurement and install programme requirements were achieved. As the program was one of the project’s greatest risks, an innovative incentive developed was the implementation of SKIDs for mechanical plans. Where it could be employed, the level 36 plant rooms were built off site, factory tested and skated into position.
The execution of such a complex structure, the finalisation of its unique curved façade and its high-quality finishes and amenities will continue to benefit anchor tenant Nine Entertainment, and multiple commercial tenants for years to come. This ground-breaking project was a significant achievement for the entire project team and is a worthy winner.
