Although this project could be considered a fairly straightforward addition to an existing residence, there were design and construction challenges encountered that would not usually be present in the construction of the average granny flat. The building exhibits a level of fitout and finish to meet the client’s expectations and match their existing home in areas such as the flooring, floor-to-ceiling tiled bathroom, stone bench tops and high-quality door furniture. The result is an extremely functional and livable space that most would be happy to call home.
