The work undertaken by Platinum Poolscapes for this pool renovation began with removing the existing spa, pool coping, equipment and interior. Then, a new internal wall was constructed (parallel to the existing house) and a new internal curved wall was also built. This work included all engineering and to cut into the pool’s concrete floor area and the side of the pool walls, exposing the original existing pool steel to attach the new reinforced steel and formwork and to spray up the walls with the new poolcrete. Platinum Poolscapes also constructed and built the new “wedding cake” tier entry steps and three treads. A new swimout leisure ledge — 2.5m long and an average of 3m wide — was also constructed on the southern side of the pool for a kids’ beach area, 600mm deep and allowing safe viewing from the entertainment area. New coping and walkways in natural limestone was laid and for the interior, new waterline tiles were added while the interior is glass. It’s great to see what Platinum Poolscapes has done to inject new life into a tired old pool and spa.
