The Eastern Creek Quarter Shopping Centre has achieved a 6-Star Green Star rating for a retail shopping centre. The centre has 1MW rooftop solar, which would generate approximately 1,500,000kWh of clean energy annually. The project recycled most of its construction waste and used more recycled products as construction materials. A 200kl on-site rainwater tank collects roof water, with the re-use system having UV filtration for servicing amenities and landscaping. All lighting is a combination of natural light from lightwells and from LED lamps. The external lights face downwards to reduce night sky glow. 
The Building Management System (BMS) incorporates extensive energy and water metering, including for the heated and chilled water loops for the air handling units. This is used to optimise the energy and water use within the building and within the individual tenancies.
All paints and glues are ultra-low VOC to provide cleaner air quality, and the extensively used timbers are low-formaldehyde glue-laminated or ply. Extensive use of thermal insulating materials was used in the roof, ceilings, and walls to control the internal temperatures.
