The Wyong Hospital Redevelopment provides a new and expanded, contemporary, flexible healthcare facility suited to the new model of care and future healthcare needs of the local population. 
The Refurbishment and expansion of the existing hospital was undertaken in parallel with the new build works. This meant services supplied to essential existing health facilities were able to maintain operational continuity for the hospital with zero disruptions throughout the 2020 and 2021 COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns. 
A new, two-storey Link bridge was installed above a major site circulation road providing clinical and non-clinical connectivity between the new and refurbished existing facilities.
Whilst the new build component of this project was constructed on a greenfield site, the infrastructure works included the construction of a new HV ring main around the whole campus which proved a challenge to the site team. The refurb component of the contract was within the existing live hospital and delivered in five stages. 
Throughout this complex and multi-stage project Crookes managed the site and the client to ensure the hospital remained fully operational and staff were conversant with the on-going construction works affecting their daily activities. The project is well constructed, and Richard Crookes deserve this well won award.
